What is KYNE skin?
KYNE skin is for the woman who has started reading labels — and doesn't like what she finds. We build tallow-based skincare around ingredients that make biological sense, sourced with enough specificity to actually mean something. Less is more. Cleaner is better. This is what that looks like in a jar.
What does it smell like?
Warmer than you'd expect. Our grass-fed suet tallow is carefully sourced and rendered clean — no heavy animal scent, no waxy sharpness. What's left is subtle and grounding, deepened by an organic vanilla bean infusion that settles into skin like a second layer. Like something you'd lean into, not away from.
Will it clog my pores?
The short answer: it's not what most people expect. Tallow's fatty acids are closely related to the lipids your skin already produces — which means it absorbs rather than sits. That said, every skin is different. If you're prone to congestion, we recommend a patch test before committing to a full routine.
What is bakuchiol?
Bakuchiol is a plant-derived alternative to retinol. In a 12-week double-blind trial, it reduced the appearance of fine lines and uneven tone comparably to retinol — with significantly less irritation, stinging, and scaling. All the visible results. None of the recovery period. No retinol in this formula.
How do I use it?
Warm a small amount between your fingertips until it melts. Press gently into clean skin — don't rub. In the morning, a little goes a long way — enough to soften and protect without heaviness. At night, use more freely. The balm works as an occlusive layer while you sleep, replenishing your barrier and locking in moisture so you wake up to noticeably softer skin.
What makes this tallow different?
Not all tallow is equal. We use suet — the premium, vitamin-rich fat from grass-fed, grass-finished cattle on a single US ranch. Rendered clean, never bleached or deodorized. Higher quality sourcing means higher quality results.
